Hi.

I'm an assistive technology trainer and one of the things I've been talking up
with my students is NVDA, the free screen reader. While it lacks many features
we expect in programs like JAWS and Window-eyes it is quite adequate for home
users. the problem is that NVDA's Espeak engine, while free, is frankly not
what I would consider a good, high quality voice. My students are used to
Eloquence with programs like JAWS. Does Nuance sell Eloquence as a SAPI TTS
program for a reasonable fee? Are there other good sources for free voices
which would work with screen readers like NVDA? I have tried Festival; it's
not bad but I'd prefer to recommend something a bit nicer for my students. Is
Neospeech the way to go for something like this?

David
