this may help you.
Before you download, make sure that the Confirm open after download option
is selected. To verify this:
1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Folder Options.
3. Click the File Types tab.
4. Scroll down and look for the type of file your wanting to download.
5. Click Advanced.
6. Verify that Confirm open after download is selected.

i have and it's not there
i used to be able to check and uncheck this box then tab along to place
the item where i want for example on the desktop
however yesterday i was not offered that choice it just went bing and that
was that
this is why i want to be able to check and unchec the box prior to
requesting the download to commence
can anyone give me a step by step guide to downloading and how to reach
this box using i presume the tab key

hi well check my documents and if you just herd the bing sound then you
have the box un checked since when it is checked it woant make a sound at

the reason i asked where it is because i downloaded or thought i
downloaded malwarebytes yesterday
but jaws never said close this box after downloading i just got the bing
sound and that was that
i can not find where it is so i have no idea if it even downloaded let
alone installed itself
so i wonder where it would be when downloading malware stuff?

Hi when ever you download or save a file in that same diologe it says
close the box when download compleats check box not checked so you just
press space on that to check or un check that box i hth. from Mich.

when downloading items from various websites somewhere there is an
option which say's close this box after downloading.
i believe this has the option of placing or removing a checkmark if
required
can anyone tell me where this is and how do i remove the checkmark as
i don't want to close the box after downloading
