Hi,Hi,
I forgot to add if your friend has all the check boxes checked off in the
sounds settings , have him go into the silent /gaming zone settings and have
him uncheck the box silent /gaming zone .
because if this box is checked avast will not display or voice any messages.
but he can have the second box checked off which is silent when a full -screen
application is running
infact the second box sielent when a full- screen application is running should
be checked off and the first box silent / gaming zone should not be checked off
so if he has this box checked off tell him to uncheck it.
Your friends audio prompts should now work on his avast program.
hope this helps anna

Hi,
have your friend go back into the settings and make sure everything is checked
off including using voice over sound.
if everything is checked off the voice should work on the automatic updates ,
scans and when the avast finds a virus in your friends email.
it is like mike said make sure everything is checked off in the sounds settings.
hope this helps anna

Good morning;
I helped a friend over the weekend to install avast 5.exe.
everything went well.
however, he is not receiving any audio when the program gets updated, or,
when a scan is finished.
I got him to open avast from desktop,

he clicked on settings,

ctrl+tabbed to the sounds tab,

all the boxes in hear were checked.

how do we get the audio promts?
I have never used this virus program.

HI David;

I haven't used Avast in quite some time but, try the following ;
1. Open Avast.
2. Assuming you're using standard unskinned interface, alt s, followed by s.
3. Scroll down the tree till sounds is highlighted.
4. Tab to "enable Avast! sounds" check box, and press space to check it.
5. Tab to ok and activate it.

These steps are for an earlier version but, hopefully they will help. Take
care.
Mike
