Make sure the volume within Winamp is up.

If you are using Jaws it is very important you adhere to the installation 
instructions within the Jaws help files/winamp topic.

Go to control panel, add/remove programs, uninstall winamp, restart
your machine, then reinstall. Let's see if that works. U might wanna
uncheck the musicmatch, shoutcast, etc. that winamp always wants to
install. They're a pita.
