Dan,

I would uninstall Macafee and install Microsoft's MSE.
Mcaffee does not play well with JAWS in any history I had
with it wheresa MSE works great

Subject: [Blind-Computing] struggling with macafee;

I am using xp/home and service pack 3, with jaws 10; Every
time I turn my computer on, macafee wants to scan and my
machine boggs along and does all sorts of crazy things; I'm
blaming this on macafee and I hope I'm right; in the
meantime, could someone tell me how to stop this scanning
thing. I would really like to get rid of macafee just to
see if it is the problem but I don't have another protection
program on my computer. Thanks for any help.

Dan
