I don't know if this really matters but I do notice it scans a lot faster if
you unplug the external from the computer before turning it on also. Wow
that was like some wicked long run on sentence, grin.

Hi when I went to run a defrag it came up with this message

Disc defragmenter has detected that chkdsk   is scheduled to run on volume 
c.  Please run chkdsk/f.  What do I need to do to run the defrag on drive C?

I do have an external drive connected but don't wish to defrag this.

Step by step simple instructions to achieve the above would be appreciated.
