The last time I received a message like that, my drive was failing. It may mean you have bad sectors on your hard drive where Windows is installed, and one of the bad sectors has affected some of the operating systems files.
If you get someone sighted to read the monitor, I do believe you'll find it says much more than just press F1 to continue. If you're lucky, then it may be just a simple bad sector, and Windows can correct it by running a scan disk on it, and repairing, or moving the files off of the bad sector, though you may have to perform a repair of Windows to get the file back. If it's a much worse problem, then that means that the drive is continuously creating bad sectors, and the drive is failing completely, and will eventually die once the bad sectors become unmanageable. In any case, if the drive is failing, you may consider getting a new hard drive, then cloning the contents of your drive to the new drive, and running your computer off the new drive. Keep in mind you'll need to take this to a professional, as the cloning process, as well as the possible re-installation of Windows may need sighted assistance. In any case, we really can't tell you exactly what's wrong until you tell us the complete message your getting on the screen when the error comes up. Here's hoping that it's something more simpler than a failing hard drive. Scorpio For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
