Janet, You didn't say how many duplicated files you are needing to delete so, I'll tell you an easy way to discover and delete a small number of duplicate files.
Using the Search for Files & Folders option, specify the full or partial name of a file that you believe is duplicated somewhere on your available drives and wait for Windows to present you with a list of what it could find. If a list is found, arrow up & down within that list and delete whatever you wish. Deleting items within that list should also delete the file and/or folders from their location on whichever drive they are located. hth Bob ----- Original Message ----- From: "Janet" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, July 30, 2011 8:26 AM Subject: [Blind-Computing] removing duplicate files Hi listers Need directions on removing duplicate files, please help OS = Windows XP pro Screenreader = Jaws 7.0 Janet Session 522 Timberlake RD Upper Darby Pa 19082 Phone:484 461-8847 Cell: 610 357-9591 Email:[email protected] [email protected] twitter isis528 For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
