Go into start menu and if you have it set to have the search box come up start typing msconfig. When you get to it enter on it. control tab to the start up tab and choose which ones you do not want to start. Do not remove the important ones like system tray and such. You may have to restart it after being I don't think win 7 asks you to. If you do not have the search field come up go into run with windows r and type msconfig there.
