Try control h as it is the find/replace?

When using Word, I use the MS Word, Find, command
Alt. E, F
Sometimes I only end up with an F in my document
Sometimes the Find window pops up, but I lose focus and type my search word
into the document instead of the search box.
Is there anything to do about this?
