yes, there is no real need to keep the battery in at all except for obvious reasons. I also believe that some say the batteries life is prolonged if it is taken out of the laptop when mains adaptor is in use, really not sure about this. I used to leave my battery in all the time on my previous laptop and I was using the mains adaptor for 95% of the time and I did feel that battery would not hold a charge for anywhere near as long as it should have, but hey it was three years old. On this laptop as I have mentioned the battery is very rarely in and it seems fine when i do use it, only 1 year old though.

With the battery removed the computer is running 50% cooler and running better

Does anyone know if I can remove the battery and run it off the power
