Go to the printers section of control panel When you have highlighted your printer press the application key.
Arrow down until you hear something like "use printer online" and press enter - this should put your printer back online. I go into control panel printer and faxes and HP1006 is there but when I print something from notepad or Word 2007 it gets queued rather than going to printer.
