Hi Michael:
Go to your CTRL panel. After you are in your CTRL panel press CTRL e to
take you into the search if you already are not on there. If you tab once,
you should land on a category button. If not, tab until you hear category
button. Press space bar. A context menu will open, if you use your up and
down arrow keys, you should hear category checked. Down arrow or up arrow
until you hear large icons or small icons. Press enter on one of the two
and
after that everything will appear in a list and in alphabetical order and
you can navigate among the CTRL panel via letter navigation.

Windows Explorer is in a category view by default,
and when you are focused on, devices with removable storage, you are on
the
category heading, not the actual drive.
If you down arrow, you should come to the external drive, where you can
press enter.
I personally don't like the category view, for this reason,
so I got rid of it.
