Hi Randy,
The brand of computer shouldn't make any difference, as long as it is
running Windows,
since Jaws will only work with Windows.
The trick is first deciding exactly what you want the computer to be able to
do for you,
and then find one that will do it, and has the most resources within your
budget.
By resources, I am talking about processor speed, memory and hard drive
capacity, etc.
You should be able to buy one off-the-shelf, that has more than you will
need, unless you do some extreme audio and video editing.
Most likely, the widest selection will be 64-bit systems with Windows 7
so you might as well make the move.
Happy shopping!
HTH,
Rick Justice

Subject: [Blind-Computing] I'm looking at a new computer

gang, Randy here.
I may be looking at a brand spaking new computer. I've had this
machine for a few years and my Brother said that it was due time for
an upgrade.
does it matter what desktop brand I get?
or do they have to be spicific to run with jaws>
What I mean is, will there be any video card issues?
I may be looking at Windows 7. I'm not sure.
