Probably the more important question is are you having any problems with the
computer? Of course you need anti-virus software but running this and that
program to a certain degree is personal preference. And, if you are using a
commercial software package for anti-virus, chances are that it is doing a
lot of what people would tell you to do in the background. For example, I
found out that my Norton 360 is defragmenting my hard drive. What would you
like the computer to be doing better at?

Thank you. I guess I know how to turn the machine on. I know how to bring
up Outlook Express and Internet Explorer, etc. I mean how to maintain the
computer--things like that.

Hi Gerry.
Since you sent your message, you obviously don't have to start from the
very
beginning.
So, figure out what you do know, and what you want to know. Then ask
questions and I think you'll be surprised how helpful this group will be.
The more explicit you can be, the better answers you'll get.

If I wanted to pretty much go back and start from the beginning, or
pretty much the beginning concerning computer use, where and how would I
do
it? I'm missing all the fun and I'm tired of not knowing anything.
Thanks in advance.
