If you are referring to the Windows operating system, try looking in the 
Task Manager.
In Windows XP, press Control + Shift+ Escape,
or Control +Alt+Delete.
In Windows 7, Control+Shift+Escape
There may be third-party software available that offers other options,
but nothing comes to mind right away.
You can look under the System Utilities heading at:
