Hi Gerald & Rick,

I have had MSSE tell me that my computer is potentially unprotected even
after a full scan. Yesterday I had to run 2 full scans to get it to stop
showing this message in the system tray. Also, after a reboot, MSSE didn't
start& so I had to reboot again to get her fired up! Take care.
Mike

  Hi Gerald,
  Try running a full scan.

This sounds like a blooper from the back bage of Consumer Reports.
Checking
my System Tray this morning , I noticed that my icon for MSE 4.0 stated
"PC
status : potentially unprotected". So I opened MSE and examined the Home
tab using the JAWS cursor, and here's what it looked like:

  graphic 399 Microsoft Security Essentials
You haven't run a scan on your PC for a while. This could put your PC at
  risk. Scan options:
  Quick
  Full
  Custom
  Real-time protection: On
Virus and spyware definitions: Up to date Scan now
  Scan details
Scheduled scan: Daily around 11:00 AM (Quick scan) Change my scan schedule
Last scan: 5/26/2012 at 10:41 AM (Quick scan)

As you can see, the page clearly states that MSE performed a quick scan
yesterday, 5/26, at 10:41AM, yet the message at the top of the page states
that myPC might be at risk because I haven't run a scan for a while. What
the heck is going on? Is this a bug in MSE, or MS's idea of a practical
joke? This has been happening about twice a week, so I just ignore the
System Tray warning. Has anyone else experience this behavior with MSE
4.0?

  Gerald
