Hi. If you need a computer this year I would go with windows 7. I don't know much about windows 8. I havn't tried it here because I don't have an extra computer. I would recommend to get windows 7 now for the computer that needs to be replaced. Then later when your other computer needs to be replaced in a year or 2 to get windows 8 then.
