[Blind-Computing] my down loads!

Hi Guys,
One day I had a sighted friend change where my down loads go from down loads to 
my external hard drive,I should have left things like they were.
Now I would like to have them go back to the down loads.
I hope there is a way of doing it by myself.
Can someone please help me out?
