When I got a new laptop I transferred all my WLM stuff. On Windows 7 I went to the sherrie folder, then to app data, local, Microsoft and then just copied the whole Windows Live Mail folder to a portable drive. Then I found the same place on my new computer and replaced the Windows Live Mail folder with the one from my old computer. It is a good idea to clean up the folders and empty the trash and so forth before copying it. I have my folders unhidden in the main folder labeled Sherrie on my computer. I am not sure if the app data shows up unless you do this. I had WLM 2009 on my old computer and WLM 2011 on the new one and it still worked.

I copy this folder periodically to a backup drive.

Sherrie Gosling
