hi there,
please make sure that all of the files that you need ie documents and
the like are backed up from the windows.old folder which can be found
in your c: drive.
now as for you not being able to delete the windows .old folder, you
can use this script to take ownership of the files

basically download the file
run take ownership.reg and click yes.
then go to c:
and find the folder or files that you are unable to delete and write click.
the applications key in that menu you will find a itum called take
onership press enter.
the prosess will begin
when it has finished, you should be able to delete the windows .old folder.
