Well, before I got this I tried another suggestion and now I am faced with a
disaster. Windows are shut tight and even though I key in the access phrase
the shutter will not open. Can I break the window pain and get inside so
that I could reset and rebuild things as they were?

if you go to advanced in the internet options, you have the options to
reset internet explorer's settings
