You can do that with the BookSense from HIMS and probably the Victor
Stream and other players, but I'm not sure if that's what you mean.

played and recorded in NLS format. Now, that they have moved to the digital
age, I am wondering if it is possible to buy a unit that would allow me to use
my computer to download the books from the library website transfer them to a
portable unit, and yet still be able to record on the portable unit? It seems
to me that having a portable recorder would still be handy. Yet I would like to
be able to transfer the recordings that I make back to the computer for editing
