have you tried using a dictionary mitigation?

set the key in the master dictionary file to say nothing for the grawv
symbol.

of course this will work most if not all the time, unless the system has an
individual file, (I haven't looked) and you could try setting it up there
and maybe still get grawv said when your say in a text editor.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] stopping the grawv key from saying grawv.

Listers,

In the settings of talking desktop clock, there is a keystroke setup for
anounceing the time. So I chose the grawv key sence we really don't use
that key any way. Maybe that was not such a good idea? But it does work,
the clock is saying the time, I just don't like hearing grawv before I hear
the time spoken.

Now I'm sure that we all know that the grawv key is just above the tab key

I remember some time ago, or should I really say, some years ago. I went in
to key labals and muted simbles, but that stopped all simbles from being
spoken.

I just now pressed the grawv key and talking desktop clock did tell me the
time, however, Jaws said grawv first. Jaws speaking at that moment can make
it kind of hard to hear the clock speaking, sence I'm using one of the
clock's voices, Robby the robot.

Thanks to all.

Carliss
