Hi
Well it appears to very from one version of JAWS to the next. However,
there is usually a jaws command to either mute JAWS or temporarily suspend
JAWS. I accidentally did this a number of times when I was first starting
with JAWS. I don't know what the key combination is on the current version
of JAWS. Perhaps it may tell you in the keyboard manager?
God bless,
Mark

Hi
It is just a guess, but perhaps one of the programs you are using at
work accidentally mutes JAWS. Perhaps changing the short cut key for muting
and unmuting JAWS might help?
God bless,
