Hi Jacob,
its real nice and interesting. would it be asking too much, if I request
you to make a free offline program of it? I feel that if it works off line
the lag will disappear.
thank you

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Something to maybe test/try out for me -
Drummachine webpage - now with sequence recording/playback of sorts
The following page includes sort of ability to record your drumming
sequence, and play it back to you thereafter, including sequence of drum
sounds, and attempt at replicating your original timing:
http://www.blindza.co.za/sm2/index.php
Aside from just typing on number row 1 to 9 in edit box/text field, if you
activate the record button - also uses the access key combo of alt + R -
then will alert you on how to stop recording sequence - alt + S to then
activate the newly visible stop button - and then focus on edit box/field,
and lets you type in your drumming pattern/sequence.
When you then hit alt + S to stop recording, it will alert/notify you
about the now visible/available play button - alt + P, to then play back
sequence to you, in order, and along the time frame you initially played
the drumming sounds in first place...<smile>
Now, there is an occasional lag, and might be better to first just run
through whole sequence of drum sounds to make sure they're all properly
preloaded before really trying out any pattern recording, but
anyway...give it a go, and let me know what you think?
Also, while other keyboard combo's might have been better suited for use
with something like this, the main thing is in order to keep playback
triggering buttons separate from any other keyboard activity - sane as the
keyboard shortcuts assigned to recording, stop and play buttons - and
those buttons are being hidden/displayed at relevant times as well.
Lastly, this is still form of testing assigning real-time sound effects to
webpage actions/events, so let me know how it works/what you think, since
this last bit of timing implementation could also be relevant to a bit
more to do with real-time web page interaction cues or sound effects,
along with dynamic content manipulation, if that makes sense...<smile>
And, already tested original version of this page, aside from sequence
recording/playback on multiple platforms, including windows PC with a
couple of different browsers, other operating systems like mac and linux,
as well as a couple of smart phone platforms, and seemed to work pretty
much cross platform as well.
Stay well
Jacob Kruger
