It’s probably best to have a machine which is current running current software. I talk to a lot of people who hold off on upgrading to the latest Windows, and they’re usually very happy once they’ve made the switch. Like I said earlier. It’s increasingly more difficult to support older operating systems. And if you’re going back to school you’ll want something that will run the latest office and all that anyways.
