I recently located a mudlib I liked well enough to begin messing around with again from the hosting end. I have put it up for my own personal use, and for personal projects I'd like to try, but I thought it might also be a good way for those who don't know about muds, or don't like playing in crowded places to go and hang out, give mudding a try, and see if it's their thing. I wouldn't bother with anything long term as a player, since I have no idea how long this particular encarnation will last, but since I have to host my web site anyway, I figure it won't hurt anything to leave the mud running when I'm not using it for others to play with. It's a generic default mud at the moment, (one that is shipped with the driver to showcase features of the mudlib), so don't expect anything fancy, but if anyone is interested, you can find it at softcon.com port 4000. Feel free to play all you like, but don't get too attached to the chars you make, since I can't guarantee there won't be new mudlibs, and/or character wipes to prepare for different features/worlds. Again, it's just something I put up to fiddle around with for myself, and thought others might like to fiddle around too, so feel free to drop by if so moved, and if you don't like it, that's ok too, I'm not out to win any contests here, just to play around and have a fun time.
