Happy Holidays from all of us here at Alter Aeon! Currently we are giving out 
our December Advent Calendar gifts. You can log in every day throughout the 
month to receive more varied and powerful gifts than the rest of the year. 
Also, trees are roaming across the world, which many say make great wood woads!

Our master world builder, Morpheus, will be running this year’s Winter Solstice 
event, which will begin on the day of the solstice: Thursday, December 21st, 
and will end noon system time on Tuesday, January 2nd. As per usual, there will 
activities for players of all levels to enjoy, both newcomers and old-timers 
alike. There will also be winter holiday-themed pk arena mobs available, my 
personal favorite being Rudolph the three-nosed mutant reindeer. We can expect 
to see the return of the EPDS (or emergency package delivery system), a 
mini-game similar to the pumpkin throwers of the Halloween Havoc event.

Skill and spell changes:

* 
The ‘lighteater’ and ‘silence’ enchants are now obscure.

* 
The necromancer skill 'graft undead' has been lowered to level 34.

* 
Spell/skillgroups added to spell and skill help pages.

* 
The mage 'shards' spell has a small chance to start bleeding on lightly armored 
targets.

Crafting changes:

* 
New composition and mined item: marble. Our lead coder, Draak, is honestly 
surprised we didn't have it before.

* 
Grafted spikes, studs and scales should given somewhat higher bonuses to undead 
creatures the higher quality they are.

Balance changes:

* 
Grafting scales to undead now gives them a modest bonus to hitpoints.

* 
The Armor Class for all ice and crystal elementals is now slightly higher. The 
AC for Incarnates lowered slightly.

* 
The intrinsic spells cast by mage summoned elementals have been changed up a 
bit. The control cost of mage mid-range elementals have been lowered. It should 
now be possible, at high levels, to stack lesser and mid-tier elementals so 
that their abilities can play off of each other, for instance a lesser 
lightning elemental's static blast can trigger an explosion off of an ice 
elemental's frost flower.

* 
Creatures that are on fire, such as from ‘flameweb’ or firebombs, are more 
easily blinded. They also get no bonus from wisdom against stunning.

* 
Raised ghoul bonus damage to nauseated foes increased a bit.

* 
The potency of sharpness has been increased, and campfires reduce the amount of 
time it takes to become sharp even more.

Upcoming changes:

* 
‘Brew acid’ is moving to the decantation/general alchemy skillgroup and 
dropping in level. The recipe for brewing acid is going to be somewhat easier. 
Players will be able to use acids to increase the purity of ores and leech new 
spell components out of various materials. Draak has an etching skill planned 
as well that will utilize acids for modifying equipment, but it won't be ready 
for a while.

* 
Random equipment will have a chance to simply have a boosted quality instead of 
altered stats.

* 
Draak has plans create a random insult generator, to amuse you yeasty 
knotty-pated clack-dishes. Conversely, he also plans to make a compliment 
social.

* 
I will continue on implementing the hunting skill and completing the Castle Ket 
area for Kordan.
