But definitely hear what Nickers said at the end there. If you do it in a complaining manner, people aren't really going to listen. Be professional about it.

Hmm. I'd suggest first bringing it up with her. Politely explain
that you're working towards independence, that, if you don't
already know, you want to kinda learn how to do stuff by
yourself, as there will come a time where you will have no aids
etc. Also, let her know that her being around constantly makes
you apart from the remainder of the class, and that you want to
fit in with your fellow peers and stuff and things, and that you
have noticed that it seems to attract stares and repel social
opportunities when you're constantly with an adult, which, I can
accurately tell you from experience that it does. Bring this up
with your councilor if need be, your homeroom teacher or
whatever, and yes even your parents. The essential thing though
is that you be polite about it, since people listen to politeness
and to reason better than complaints. Hope that helps.

Well, before I start this message, I should say, Emily, don't
tell mom and
dad I sent this e-mail because I don't really wanna have another
fight over
this.

Okay, have anyone had a parra or assistant or anyone who's
followed them
around to all of your classes and does everything for you? And
makes a sceen
or imbarrasses you in front of people? Or, the one that gets me
the most,
when she calls your studyhall a resource room even though I don't
even go in
a resource room? Well, I'm kind of stuck, because my math
teacher/homeroom
teacher demands she be around me, and my parents agree. Anyone
have any
advice as someone I could talk to to persuade them to let me have
some
space? Its not as bad for Emily because she's at the high school
and only
has her for two classes when I'm in choir and gym and studyhall.
So Emily
doesn't understand to convince my parents, and I don't blame her.
I've tried
to ignore it, but I just can't any more. Can anyone help me?

Thanks
