Ahem, ahem. Blast from the past, I know, and a little late on the uptake, but yeah! Visualizing things. I guess I'd say I've always been good at visualizing things, whether it be for math, or just recriational. It probably has something to do with being able to see when I was younger, but this doesn't mean that someone who hasn't ever had sight before can't do the same thing. As much as I like to pretend otherwise, I'm not totally unique and awesome and cool... LOL. PS: I've got about five hundred e-mail in my inbox right now, so I'd just like to say, thank you all for making my spanish assignment extremely hard to find. Although, some two hundred of these are from last spring... Just goes to show how dedicated I can be! LOL.

Especially the graphs. The formula side of it, maybe so, but I
have a hard time picturing things, myself, unless they're in some
way tactically shown to me.

I can't even imagine a math book in electronic format. Sounds
interesting.
I heard something recently that by 2012 or 2013 all publishers
are
supposed to have electronic versions of their textbooks available
specifically for people with disabilities but I could have that
year
wrong.
I have used Nimas textbooks for the past five years and those
have
worked out pretty well. I like how you can just convert all the
files
to text at the beginning of the year and store them on your
BrailleNote or jump drive so they're there whenever you need
them.
I've done that for english, spanish, and history, and all have
worked
out pretty well.

All of my college textbooks have been in eletronic format
(usually PDF
files.) It was just easier and cheaper to get it done that way
and also that
way I can ahve access to the textbook whenever the class begins
for the
semester and it also makes it really easy to follow along with
the print
version since the eletronic copy is just the print version just
not on
paper. The only one I wouldn't do that way is math. It's just
not pritty.
Math is probably one of the few subjects where I would still use
strictly
Braille materials for if it was possible but I have done it
eletronically
and it wasn't so bad.

If you can, I'd try looking into electronic books that you can
put
onto a note-taker. At least in my experiences with school those
seem
to be a little cheaper and they work out pretty well because you
can
just save the files on a memory stick or SD card. I usually get
mine
from American Printing House (APH). I also have borrowed some
of my
textbooks from our Library of Congress braille department.
Perhaps
you might be able to do something similar? Good luck.

Do any of you know where you can buy fairly inexpensive

have loads to spend on them.
