They might be good for doing work and things, but especially in a society as technologically advanced as ours, a slate and stylus almost worthless, unless you use it for personal use.

Well you can call it a device of course, lol. As one person said, there are two pieces of technology for the blind in Russia, a white cane and slate and stylus. These are very universal: they never get broken (though I once broke my stylus), their batteries never run down, what better technology can you find? lol. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lillie Pennington" <[email protected]

I used it to braille music once. It's a nifty little device but haven't used it much.

I never used a slate and stylus, but back in elementary school, I used the oldest Embosser under the sun: the Braille Blazer. Ugh! It used to be in the corner of my classroom for the Braillist to emboss my work, which was the worst place in the world for it. I mean, here we were, sitting on the carpet, trying to read freaking Curious George or what have you, and it suddenly starts going off, and will! not! stop! Talk about embarrassing.. At least they have a room for it now, not to mention that I've said, bye-bye
Blazer, hello Tiger and/or Juliet!

hieroglyphs for me, lol.
