Hi, Brandon.
You are right a triditional game way of leading in to major battles is a
cut seen like the one that begins Ambush at Altyr 5. You have a
discussion between mara Jade and our Jedi Knight. Our Jedi Knight
decides to leave Mara at the base, and handle the problem. As soon as
the cutseen ends our player is in some base, explosions all around, and
storm troopers storming the complex. You must whipe them out as quickly
as possible. As soon as you finish that level you go into another
cutseen which redirects the player.
Star Wars: Rebel Assault II also has such cut seens. In that game you
start out with a couple of X-Wing pilots exploring a Mysterious
disappearance of some X-Wing fighters in the region. Suddenly, they are
jumped, your fellow pilots are blown out of the sky, and you are left
to stop the Tie Fighters.
If we are going to do this game right probably cutseens will be
required, butUSA Games is out of it's league with such ventures right
now. We will probably have to look in to that once we have a solid story.
