It's probably because I come from a family of people who are, to varying degrees, technophobes. But it's also because, without speech, I have to rely on my memory with no feedback to check that I'm doing it right. Lastly, I have had, and heard about, some pretty spectacular computer crashes which I wouldn't have a clue in hell how to get out of if they were to happen again.
