What I've never understood about that is why is the recording industry going
after people for copying music and video, yet when someone buys an original
off another person, the recording industry is still losing a direct sale,
but doesn't appear to be worried about it.

Um, if you're buying a copy off someone or someone gives you their old copy
of the rom, what would be illegal about that? The only thing I could see
being illegal would be if someone burned you a copy, or burned copies and
sold them.
