A light probe detects light and you hear electronic impulses when light shines on the probe. We used to position a spotlight over the backstop that the target was pinned to so that when the probe is aimed at the light, I would hear the electronic impulses through an ear piece. The light probe was anchored where sighted people would have a scope mounted on the bow. My field of focus was a 16-inch circle, and I had to judge the center of that circle. I used a compound bow with a 60-pound pull.
