Just coming into this thread.  I would be more concerned about moisture using 
one of these diverters than anything else.  I.E. in the winter, if the dryer is 
in the basement and the furnace is also in the basement I would use it, but in 
the summer, (like now) I would not use it.  I know, I know! it's suppose to 
dirrect the exhaust to the outside in summer ?  I never saw one that was sealed 
enough to get all the moisture outside.

Just my thoughts.

  the unit I have for venting into the house has a fine mesh screen and we use
  a natural soap and use no product in the drier.
