Hi
While cartridge installation varies somewhat between brands and models,
these general instructions apply to most major brands.

Steps:
1.
Purchase an ink cartridge made specifically for your printer.

2.
Turn on your printer and raise the lid or press the cartridge changing
button.

3.
Wait for the cartridge carrier to slide out.

4.
Put your finger behind the ridge on the top front of the old cartridge and
pull it toward you to remove. If you have an Epson printer, lift the
cartridge
holder lid, and the cartridge will pop up for removal.

5.
Carefully remove the tape from the ink opening on the bottom of new
cartridge.

6.
Insert the new cartridge into the cartridge carrier. Make sure the new
cartridge is oriented the same way that the old cartridge had been.

7.
Feel and hear the cartridge click into position. On some models, arrows will
indicate the cartridge is correctly positioned.

8.
If you have an Epson printer, close the cartridge holder lid and press the
cleaning button to charge the cartridge.

9.
Close printer cover.

Tips:

Some printer drivers display step-by-step directions on the computer screen.

If you have a Canon printer, make sure you did not disturb the paper
adjustment lever.

Avoid touching openings, nozzles and electrical contacts on the new
cartridge while installing.

Warnings:

Ink-jet printers will not work without all cartridges in place.

The use of third-party cartridges (not made by your printer's manufacturer)
may result in poor print quality and printer damage.

Refilling cartridges often introduces foreign material into the ink, which
will clog the printer.

Any damage caused by use of third-party cartridges or refills is
specifically excluded from coverage in manufacturers' limited warranties.

Most laser printers deliver thousands of pages before the toner cartridge
runs out of gas. But when those telltale streaked pages start showing up,
it's
time for the old toner-cartridge switcheroo.

Steps:
1.
If your toner cartridge starts to die in the middle of an important job with
no replacement on hand, you can squeeze out a few more good pages by
removing
it and gently rocking it back and forth to redistribute the remaining toner
powder.

2.
Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.

3.
Remove any paper trays.

4.
Open the cover on the printer. If you're not sure how it opens, consult the
manual that came with your printer or the directions packaged with your
replacement
cartridge.

5.
Rest one hand on top of your printer. With the other hand, grasp the toner
cartridge and pull upward until the cartridge unlocks and releases.

6.
Set the cartridge aside and open the bag that contains the replacement
cartridge.

7.
Install the replacement cartridge in the printer, following the instructions
that were packaged with it.

8.
Place the old cartridge in the bag and box that the new one came in so you
can mail it back to the manufacturer for recycling. Many manufacturers will
pay
the postage for returning used cartridges.

9.
If your new toner cartridge starts out printing lightly or unevenly, you can
speed the break-in process by printing a couple of pages of solid black (to
do that, draw a black box in Microsoft Word or another application).

Overall Warnings:

Toner cartridges are sensitive to light, so don't leave a new one sitting in
a pool of sunlight while you make a sandwich.
