Yes because it is inevitable that the auger (or augers) will eventually get
clogged.
First thing to do is un hook the spark plug.
Next, determine if it is ice or something hard. I use a wooden dowel to poke
around in the chutes.
Again, be sure the spark plug is unhooked so there is absolutely no
possibility that the auger's) could accidentally start up when your hand is
down among the mechanisms.
I start at the bottom to see if something hard has jammed the bottom auger.
Manually turning the auger backwards will usually dislodge something hard
such as a piece of wood or perhaps a rock.
The bottom auger on a two stage blower does not turn all that fast and it is
most likely the top auger which has frozen up. This is especially true if it
was a wet snow and the temp is very cold.
Usually turning the top augur backwards will also help unclog it. Snow
blowers will also tend to clog if they are not run at a pretty good rpm. It
is very similar to mowing really green or damp grass. Got to keep those rpms
up or it will bog down. Your snow blower will also be a lot happier if you
clear the throat from time to time. When the snow is heavy do not "crowd"
the blower. Give it ample opportunity to clear itself by allowing it to blow
out all of the snow it has accumulated.
Again, never! Never! Never! Put your hands anywhere near those augers or
chutes when the blower is running. The possibility of getting a hand caught
in the mechanism will not only be very painful it could leave you a one
handed Braille reader.
Always disable the engine before doing anything on the "working end" of the
machine.

Good advice.
Do you have any tips on how one would go about clearing some thing that is
stuck.
