Yes Dale,
Running over something living was a major worry for me and that is why I
always had someone sighted keep an eye on what was going on.
The deep snow makes going really tough for small things and the noise a snow
blower makes could easily drown out any cry for help, especially when the
snow tends to muffle sounds anyway.
I recall my 3 year old grandson's first experience with anything near deep
snow. It snowed about 2 feet one evening and my grandson would not listen to
the warnings that deep snow makes it really hard for short folks to go
through.
He ran off our deck, got about 10 feet and just disappeared. We were
watching and I went out to fetch him because he was hopelessly bogged down
and could not really go anywhere...
The other real worry is the discharge from the blower. Man, that stuff can
cut just like a sharp knife so you really need to know where it is being
thrown.
Cy, the Ancient okie...

Doesn't anyone worry about stray animals or children when running snow
blowers? Although it is not the issue here it once was now that kids tend
not to play out of doors and now that this neighbourhood is growing a little
older I wouldn't rely on no grand children visiting. You just can't predict
reliably what a little kid might do and even if they know you are blind it
doesn't really have the same meaning for them. There are at least two cats
which worry some of the birds around here I be happy enough to be gone but
not that way.I am pretty sure my neighbor's dog would come running to frisk
with me in an instant if he got free and that would break my heart to shred
her.
