Jewel, there is a screw that moves the bar back and forth from the sprocket. On the wrench that came with your saw should be a screwdriver for this purpose. You will have to turn it backwards to move the bar closer to the sprocket, then move it back out. Once you have the chain in the bar, and start to titan the chain, pick up the chain from the middle of the bar, the guides on the bottom of the chain should just clear the top of the bar where you have a hold of it, you don't want the chain to tight, it will get to hot when running. Now completely tighten the nuts that secure the bar. Ken Hawk
