There are other considerations too, they include sufficient clearance for
fire. Specially designed fire places and stoves for indoor use are insulated
to prevent heat transfer to walls and floors and even the smoke pipe must be
designed to keep the building from catching fire.

Up here we have a certain number of yobos who seem to find ever more
ingenious ways of burning down their buildings, shacks and camps and garages
in exactly that sort of way. The occasional one will gas themselves and
often others by heating or indoor cooking with the barbecue.

If you don't have a lot of room there are 0 clearance fire places and stoves
you can have installed.

Personally, I couldn't be bothered with the dirt and the suit and the ashes
and the bugs coming in on the fire wood although I do enjoy the occasional
night or two in a fancy hotel where someone else takes care of that sort of
mess and all I have to do is open the flu and light the fire. There are a
couple of rooms at the Pinewood Park down in North Bay, nothing quite like
having room service lay out a supper table in front of the fire place on a
winter evening. Buys a load of romantic good feeling from a significant
other around anniversary time.
