Hello Edward, A friend of mine works in one of our local hospitals in the maintenance section. a few months ago he showed me one of those types of fittings. They just slide on and lock in place. They must be pretty good since he is a certified pipe fitter and licensed plumber and likes them. They eliminated the fire potential of the torches in the hospital. Hi all, My brother-in-law tells me he has used plumbing fittings called Shark Bite fittings. He says they are a solderless fitting that is not like compression fittings. According to him, pipes are simply forced over the fitting and that's it. Anyone used these things? If so, how well do they work? Thanks.
