Hi Michael, You should be able to get the supplier to cut the counter top. Unless you have one massive mother radial saw that will be a very difficult cut to make and you are likely to chip the surface even if you have a mother of a radial arm saw. This is particularly true if there is a back splash molded on.
You might get away with it by turning it over good side down and laying a hunk of plywood or something on the bottom side to fill up the difference between the front lip and the rest of the top then very carefully using maybe an already 45 cut sheet to use as a guide for a skill saw make the cut at least as far as the back splash at which point you could finish the cut carefully with a hand saw remembering that the substrate is usually sawdust board and of very little integral strength. If you attempt this I would also lay a strip of masking tape along the place where the cut will be on the good side to minimize the chipping. Ideally, one would like to finish the cut with a good straight cutting bit on a router but again the thickness will likely present a barrier. I am sure though that the supplier will cut the top so long as you give accurate measurements.
