Well folks I dug out the jig I recently purchased. It is made in tiawan for
Woodstock International and sold under the trademark Steelex. The box refers
to a web site of shopfox.biz.. The stepped drill bit comes separately and
doesn't appear to come with the locking collar for setting the depth. Guess
that requires another stop at the store. Well for less than $20 what can I
expect.

So I just read Ray's post on the Kreg R3 pocket hole joinery kit. I don't
know much, or anything, about pocket hole joinery. Has anyone used this
particular kit, or any others? Can anyone give me an idea on whether or
not this R3 kit seems like a worthwhile investment? Or is there another
pocket hole kit that you have used that is just the be all and end all of
  pocket joinery?

  thanks.
