Hi Karl, When I get a bit of time later today or more likely tomorrow I'll try to find you some British locations. For woodworking though, something like about 600 grit is about as fine as you need. Rubbing compound between coats of varnish or varathane will produce a final wonderful smooth finish. Mostly I find that among the automotive supplies. It seems to be even finer than rotten stone.
