Dan On a more serious note. Would it be practicle to cut your Too short board in half and then cut a ? inch piece off of a scrap piece and after you have all three pieces together and nailed to the wall, use some type of wood filler and apply the finnesh. Question then would be, Are you going to paint this trim or put on some other type of finnish. I took a board that was half an inch too long, cut an eighth off of it, and ended up with a board half an inch too short. Don't ask me how. Hell, I was so impressed that I couldn't even get mad.
