My idea is very similar to others. Using a board of a known length, put a level on it, with of course one on the ground. Measure the distance to the ground from the end in the air. Make sure the measurement is taken from the side touching the ground and not the top of the board. Divide the measurement by the length of the board. Make sure both numbers are in inches or feet. Tjhe decimal fraction is the percent of grade. Move the decimal point two places to the right for correct percent statement. Hi, I am thinking about getting one of them robotic lawn mowers, but I have some hills and need to know the percent grade of the slope of the hill. Can anyone tell me how I could figure this one out? It needs to be under 15% grade for one and the other choice needs to be under 27% grade, so if anyone can help me figure this out it would be appreciated.
