I recently bought a Direct from Newegg.com. 1000 VA, 600 W. Price was about $80 with free shipping. They had it this weekend for $68 with free shipping. Its noticebly smaller and lighter than tmy old Belkin. I got it for the reasons you described.
Just about everybody has one or more UPS on sale every few weeks, frequently with free shipping. I recently lost a DSL modem and a ham power supply that were connected to my Belkin. It was out of warranty and I didn't expect them to replace it but got a new one delivered last week. Still processing paperwork for the attached equipment. I think we had this discussion before but I am looking at getting an uninteruptable power system to plug my computer into. It does not need to have much run time. The only reason that I am thinking about getting one is that where we live the power tends to cut off for a few seconds and then come back on. We are really only talking literally about less than 5 to 10 seconds. That is just long enough to accomplish 2 things. One is to make my computer shut off and the other thing, which is related is to piss me off. I want one that is reliable but I don't think I need the top of the line. Does any one know where I can get one for a good price and what kind of price range might I be looking at? What I really need to hook up is 2 CPU's Thanks Robert To listen to the show archives go to link http://acbradio.org/handyman.html or ftp://ftp.acbradio.org/acbradio-archives/handyman/ The Pod Cast address for the Blind Handy Man Show is. http://www.acbradio.org/news/xml/podcast.php?pgm=saturday Visit The Blind Handy Man Files Page To Review Contributions From Various List Members At The Following address: http://www.jaws-users.com/handyman/ Visit the archives page at the following address http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ If you would like to join the Blind Computing list, then visit the following address for more information: http://jaws-users.com/mailman/listinfo/blind-computing_jaws-users.com For a complete list of email commands pertaining to the Blind Handy Man list just send a blank message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Yahoo!
