It's funny what you hear about the tape. Down here, Carolina, they sell it by
color. Silver is original which is good, and I believe what they call 200 MPH
is blue green. If you're using it as a pour man's clamp, what they sold you
should work fine. I just buy the strong stuff because I never know what I'm
going to be using it on.

  Bob,
At the one hardware store they have three grades of duct tape. I don't
remember prices but they accordantly go up in price in relation to the
adhesive quality. I believe that the most expensive is what they use on the
race cars so that the wind won't peal it off. When I told him what I wanted
to use it for he gave me the lightest grade. I wanted to use it to hold some
wood together until I could use some permanent fasteners.

And now you know how I know about buying the real thing too. I wasted money
on the other stuff and most of the adhesive was gone when I pealed the tape
  back from the roll.

Thanks Bob Kennedy for that tip in finding the real" duck tape" brand.
Now I know that jumbo roll of tape we got last summer is the off brand
name. So again it proves , " you get what you pay for". thanks.Lee
